A nature trail for everyone
In today's edition of the St. Petersburg Times, there appeared an article about a nature trail for the visually impaired. A teen working toward Eagle Scout status thought of a project for a North Pinellas County Florida park that provides braille plaques along the guided trail. What a great kid and what a fabulous idea. If you get a chance, go visit the trail.
Death Valley
Have you seen the footage on TV about Death Valley recently? With all of the rain, Death Valley has become a lush carpet of beautiful flowers. According to the Park's site, there are over 1000 plant species to see. If you visit, don't pick the flowers. It's prohibited. Besides, it's so much nicer to leave the plants to be viewed by everyone so take pictures instead.
Wrenaissance
Here's another blog - Wrenaissance focused on celebrating Jane's backyard wildlife habitat, and sharing information about habitats, wildlife, and native plants. Wrenaissance.com also provides great information about the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
